Kannur Squad: A Movie for the Thrill-Seekers

Let’s dive into 'Kannur Squad,' a Malayalam language film that was released on 28 September 2023. It received critical acclaim from critics and is also available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Imagine a rollercoaster ride, but with cops and criminals. The film centers around a tough police team led by Mammootty as ASI George Martin. They're more than just average cops; they're like super detectives on a mission to chase down the bad guys.

When I began this blog, my plan was to stick to investment and tech topics. However, after watching "Kannur Squad," I felt compelled to share my thoughts on this movie with all of you.

The story begins in 2015, with the squad searching a forest for a political goon. However, the plot thickens when they come across a dead guy, initially thought to have committed suicide, but later discovered to be a murder victim. Following the trail of clues to Coimbatore, they unravel that the man's wife and nephew are implicated in the case.

Jump to 2017, and there's another big case. A rich guy got robbed and killed in Kasaragod, and the police are clueless. So, our squad gets called in. They find this guy Riyas who spills the beans about his old buddies planning the crime.

This leads the squad on a crazy chase across India, from Mumbai to a village in Uttar Pradesh, and finally to a thrilling showdown near Nepal. It's all about catching these robbers who wanted to start a business with dirty money. Though the movie reveals the murderers early on, the pursuit to catch them makes the story even more intriguing.

One scene that really got my adrenaline pumping was in Pawan's village, Tikri. The squad is almost overpowered by the entire village trying to take them down. Just when it seems like they're beaten and have to retreat, there's this intense moment where they make a sudden comeback and manage to capture Pawan. It was an unexpected twist that had me on the edge of my seat!

The final dialogue by Kishore, as SP Manu Needhi Cholan, is very impactful. 'During my 18 years of service, I've observed two types of policemen. Eighty percent of them work by the clock, counting each minute from morning until evening, eagerly awaiting the end of their day. The remaining twenty percent don't even glance at the clock. Their dedication and commitment lie solely with their duty. It is this small group of twenty percent that upholds law and order in every corner of our country.'

"Kannur Squad" is not just about action; it's a story of good guys versus bad guys, with some serious detective work. So, if you love edge-of-your-seat thrillers and crime dramas, this movie is for you! 🎥🚔👮‍♂️👊
